好きなものを問う問題（自己紹介系の問題）とは

TSSTでは、１０問の設問に各４５秒で回答をします。１０問のうち、最低１問は「好きなものを問う」問題が出題されます。

「好きなものを問う問題」の設問例

・あなたの好きな国はどこですか。その理由を教えてください。
・好きなスポーツ選手の名前を一人挙げてください。また好きな理由を教えてください。
・好きな雑誌、本は何ですか。それはどんなものですか。

実際に解いてみよう

自己紹介などのスピーチは、結論、理由などの述べる論理的な回答ができないものの、ある程度で「型」持って臨むべきです。

例えば、以下のような「型」をあらかじめ用意しておくとスムーズに会話を作ることができます。

① 結論を述べる（ex.私は〇〇が好きです。）
② その理由を述べる（ex.過去に〇〇に行き、とても楽しい時を過ごした。）
③ 補足するエピソードやエビデンスを挙げる（ex.〇〇に行って〇〇と出会いました。）
④ (時間があれば)２と３を繰り返す
⑤ 最後に結論を述べる

論理的な回答を求められる設問とは異なり、理由を論理的に述べることはできません。その分、具体的なエピソードや事実など述べることで内容を膨らませると良いでしょう。

では、実際に回答してみます。私なら以下のような回答をします。今回は、「金曜日の夜は普段何をしますか。」という質問に回答したいと思います。

①If I don’t have work to do, I make it a rule to meet my friends at Friday night. I work for a real estate company and I spend most of my time at my office. Therefore, I naturally spend most of my time with my colleagues and talk about things related to my job. I think I need to think outside the box and one of the most useful way is to meet my friends, who are not related to this industries. I can learn what normal people think and do away with stereotyped ideas.

②I also enjoy talking with my friends. I can can kill two birds with one stone. We usually go to a restaurant and have dinner. One of us selects and books a restaurant where we are going, so we can try new restaurants. After having dinner, we go to a cafe and enjoy talking over a cup of coffee. We just talk a lot and share our information. We talk about our job, clothes and girls talk.

③When I don’t have plans for Friday night, I always go to cafe and study English and read books. I can really concentrate on studying on Friday, because I don’t have to think about my work.

④I think Friday nights are really important. It is not too much to say that how I spend Friday nights effects the whole weekends.
