このページでは、TSSTのスピーキングテストの過去を解いてみます。参考にしていただければと思います。
好きなものを問う問題（自己紹介系の問題）とは
TSSTでは、１０問の設問に各４５秒で回答をします。１０問のうち、最低１問は「好きなものを問う」問題が出題されます。
「好きなものを問う問題」の設問例
・あなたの好きな国はどこですか。その理由を教えてください。
・好きなスポーツ選手の名前を一人挙げてください。また好きな理由を教えてください。
・好きな雑誌、本は何ですか。それはどんなものですか。
実際に解いてみよう
自己紹介などのスピーチは、結論、理由などの述べる論理的な回答ができないものの、ある程度で「型」持って臨むべきです。
例えば、以下のような「型」をあらかじめ用意しておくとスムーズに会話を作ることができます。
① 結論を述べる（ex.私は〇〇が好きです。）
② その理由を述べる（ex.過去に〇〇に行き、とても楽しい時を過ごした。）
③ 補足するエピソードやエビデンスを挙げる（ex.〇〇に行って〇〇と出会いました。）
④ (時間があれば)２と３を繰り返す
⑤ 最後に結論を述べる
論理的な回答を求められる設問とは異なり、理由を論理的に述べることはできません。その分、具体的なエピソードや事実など述べることで内容を膨らませると良いでしょう。
では、実際に回答してみます。私なら以下のような回答をします。今回は、「欲しい商品の情報をどのように入手していますか。」という質問に回答したいと思います。
①Thanks to the development of information technology, we can get more information about products than before. It is not too much to say that we gain so much information that we can’t look and understand all of it. Therefore, I think it’s important to compare information I get from the Internet and from the real world. I’m going to show you how I choose goods.
②At first, I access to Amazon, which is the most popular EC site in the world and try to search good products. I have used this site for a long time, so they have the records of what I bought and they have recognized my preference. The site also recommends products what I should buy. I also check rating and comments about the products, so I can use them.
③Secondly, I go to a store to check the real things if I can’t judge which product I should buy on the Internet. If I can’t judge by just watching products or reading its description, I ask a staff for explanation about products.
④These are my process to buy some goods.
